KalSoft is looking for an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (Senior DBA) to join our team. This role is ideal for professionals with extensive expertise in Oracle Database Administration, high availability, disaster recovery, database security, performance tuning, backup & recovery, and enterprise database management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, security, scalability, and optimal performance of mission-critical Oracle database environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure 24x7 availability, reliability, and performance of Oracle database environments supporting critical business applications.
  • Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery (DR) solutions to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Configure and manage high-availability solutions including Oracle Data Guard, Active Data Guard, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle RAC, and clustered database environments.
  • Plan, implement, and administer Oracle RAC, Active-Passive clustering, and enterprise database architectures.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump (expdp/impdp), and operating system-based backups.
  • Automate backup, monitoring, and maintenance activities using RMAN scripts, cron jobs, Bash, Perl, or other scripting tools.
  • Perform database restoration and recovery with minimal impact during system failures or disaster scenarios.
  • Administer database security including users, roles, privileges, profiles, auditing, resource management, and database hardening.
  • Monitor database environments proactively, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement tuning for SQL, PL/SQL, memory, storage, I/O, and network performance.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle Database software across multiple versions.
  • Manage Oracle ASM, tablespaces, data files, storage structures, and capacity planning activities.
  • Perform database performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization for enterprise-scale applications.
  • Support large-scale database migration, replication, data movement, and upgrade initiatives using Oracle Data Pump, Streams, SQL*Loader, Transportable Tablespaces, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with application architects, infrastructure teams, and developers to support database design, optimization, and deployment.
  • Design and maintain database objects including tables, indexes, views, sequences, packages, procedures, functions, and clusters.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation covering database architecture, configurations, installation procedures, migration plans, and operational standards.
  • Create performance testing plans, establish test environments, and support production deployments.
  • Provide proactive operational support, database monitoring, incident management, and on-call support for enterprise production environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 12+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Database Administration within enterprise environments.
  • Extensive experience managing Oracle Database versions including 8i, 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c, and 18c or later.
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience administering Oracle Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and Oracle GoldenGate environments.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience implementing and managing Oracle RAC, clustered databases, and high-availability solutions.
  • Strong expertise in RMAN backup and recovery, disaster recovery planning, backup automation, and database restoration.
  • Solid experience with Oracle ASM, OCFS, clustered file systems, storage management, and capacity planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL performance tuning, execution plans, indexing strategies, and query optimization.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database security, auditing, user management, resource management, and database hardening.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Shell scripting for database automation and monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience with database replication, distributed databases, data migration, and large-scale data movement.
  • Experience working with Oracle Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or other cloud database platforms will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts including ETL, OLAP, Cubes, schema design, analytics, and query optimization.
  • Experience managing Oracle databases across multiple operating systems including Linux, Windows, IBM AIX, HP-UX, and Sun SPARC.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced enterprise environment supporting mission-critical systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Database Administrator certification.
  • Oracle Certified Master (OCM) certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale financial, banking, government, or telecommunications databases.
  • Experience with Oracle Exadata, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Experience with cloud-native database administration and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and database automation tools will be an added advantage.
